SELF EXPLORATION ASSESSMENTS
Students begin their self exploration using Xello's Matchmaker, Personality Style, and Skills assessments.
Students can click on each individual Career to find out more information including why the Career was matched to them.
The Aspects specific to the job and how the student answered questions in Matchmaker are listed. There are also additional aspects that students can answer to get an updated recommendation. |
Xello updates the Career suggestions based on the answers from all of these assessments. Once you've done the assessements, it's time to explore each Career in more detail.
EXPLORE CAREERS
Now that you've completed the assessments, you will have some career recommendations from Xello. You can start by searching those recommended careers for more detailed information. The information about each Career includes: a job description, future demand, interviews, core tasks, workplace characteristics, working conditions, an interactive salary calculator, career path options, and majors related to the Career.
Explore each of the recommended Careers and update the likes/dislikes for each of their aspects. Xello will continue to recalculate your recommendations based on this updated information.
Make sure to save your favorites so you can easily navigate back to them.

EXPLORE MAJORS
The next step is to see what majors or college degree you need to earn to be able to do the career. On the bottom of each career information page, there is a list of related majors. This is the quickest way to see which majors are related to that career.
Each Majors page has a wealth of information including levels of degree available, typical courses for the major, related majors, related careers to the major, and an interactive list of schools that offer the major. Using this feature is an excellent way to explore majors and identify institutions (schools) to start your college list.
