CAREER TECHNICAL ED (CTE) PATHWAYS
What is a Pathway? A Pathway is a group of jobs and industries that are related by skills or products. Pathways are also referred to as Career Clusters. Within each Pathway there are a collection of courses and training opportunities that prepare students for several career opportunities. For example: If my chosen Pathway is Health Science my potential career options may include: doctor, nurse, veterinarian, dentist, lab technician, physical therapist, athletic trainer and more. There are 16 total Pathways/Career Clusters established at the national level and are recognizable across the United States in middle schools, high schools, community and technical colleges, and the workforce.

PERSONALIZED PATHWAY REQUIREMENTS (PPRs)
What is a PPR?
The Personalized Pathway Requirements (PPR) allow for a change in the default graduation requirements. PPRs allow up to 1.0 credit of Fine Art and/or up to 2.0 credits of World Language to be replaced by courses that are based on the student’s interests and their High School and Beyond Plan. PPR classes may include Career and Technical Education and are intended to provide a focus for the student’s learning.
*Carefully consider your post high school plan before choosing to deviate from the credit requirements.
If your post high school plan is a 4 year college or university, 2 years of World Language will be a minimum requirement. Fine Arts credits may also be a requirement. Community colleges and Vocational/Technical Schools typically do not require 2 years of World Language and 2 years of Fine Arts, but you are responsible for knowing the admissions requirements of the school or program you plan on pursuing.
Furthermore, students often change their post high school plans as they progress through high school. We encourage all students to keep their options open and complete the World Language and Art Requirements.
